The power of not saying anything

One of the coaching tools, I use the most, is a quite simple one.

When a coachee has shared their thoughts or beliefs, I give room for silence.

Because sometimes when we say something out loud, having silence afterwards will make us reflect on what we said. And give room for insight to form.

And it is quite powerful.

So, the next time you are having a deep conversation with someone, try giving room for silence and experience what happens.
